Sunny lyuke is a professor of Chemical and Process Engineering and the Chief Executive Officer of the Petroleum Training Institute (PTI), Effurun, Warri, Delta State in Nigeria. He was Head of School of Chemical and Metallurgical Engineering at the University of the Witwatersrand (Wits), Johannesburg, South Africa. Sunny has published more than 226 articles in journals and conferences worldwide. He has produced numerous patents in nanotechnology locally and internationally including World Intellectual Property Organization of International Bureau. He holds the Chair of APV SPX Professor of Biochemical Engineering at Wits. Professor lyuke boasts of a number of outstanding research leadership grants won at Wits, and numerous awards and prizes. From 2008 to 2013 he has secured more than R12 million worth grant for his research from both government agencies and Industries. He is a visiting professor to the University of Port Harcourt (UNIPORT), Nigeria, and collaborates in research and teaching in the Institute of Petroleum Studies (IPS), Centre of Petroleum Research and Training and in the African Centre of at UNIPORT. He also collaborates in research with NASA, USA, Vaal University of Technology (VUT), Schools of Chemistry and Pharmacy at Wits, Department of Chemical Engineering of the University of Pretoria, and Institute of Fuel Cell of the Faculty of Engineering, National University of Malaysia. He was a professor at University Putra Malaysia (UPM) till 2004 when he returned to Africa. He is a chartered Engineer with the Engineering Council, UK, Professional Engineer with the Engineering Council of South Africa and the Vice Chairman of council of the South Africa Institution of Chemical Engineers.
