Julian Osuji is professor in the department of Plant science and Biotechnology, University of Port Harcourt. He has served as Head, Department of Plant Science and Biotechnology and also as a member of several ad hoc committees in the University of Port Harcourt. With over 20 years post-PhD experience, he has supervised several projects for Undergraduate and Post graduate students and has also served as external examiner to several undergraduate and post graduate students of several universities in Nigeria. Prof. Osuji has also consulted for the International Institute of Tropical Agriculture, Federal Ministry of Environment, and several Public Liability Companies. As a member of about six local and three international professional societies, Prof Osuji has served in various committees, as well as on the editorial board of more than eight international and three local journals. His research interest is centered on large scale and long range genome organization of plants. The connection between the genome, cytological, histological and histochemical features and their translation to the external morphology. His research has yielded more than sixty publications, about 50% of which were published internationally.
