Ebenezer M. Okonkwo is a Professor of Hydrocarbon and Petrochemicals, of the Centre for Gas, Refining and Institute of Petroleum Studies, University of Port Harcourt and a Deputy Director of the University of Port Harcourt, Technology Park. He earned his first degree in Chemistry from the University of Ibadan, Nigeria, a Master’s Degree in Petrochemicals and Hydrocarbon Chemistry from the University of Manchester, Institute of Science and Technology (UMIST) in England, a Doctor of Philosophy in Hydrocarbon Polymers also from UMIST, a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from the University of Aston in Birmingham, England and a Master in International Affairs and Diplomacy from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, Nigeria. Professor Okonkwo also acquired Diplomas of the United Institute of Marketing and Industrial Management respectively. He worked with the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) for six years before transferring his services to the National Research Institute of Chemical Technology (NARICT), Zaria Nigeria, an agency under the Federal Ministry of Science and Technology where he rose to the position of Director-General.
