Professor Joseph A. Ajienka, is the 7th Vice-Chancellor, University of Port Harcourt (2010-2015), and the Emmanuel Egbogah Chair Professor of Petroleum Engineering, University of Port Harcourt. He was the pioneer Director and member Governing board of the Institute of Petroleum Studies from 2003. He holds BSc with honours from the University of Ibadan, MEng and PhD from the University of Port Harcourt, all in Petroleum Engineering. Professor Ajienka is a registered Engineer (COREN), Member of several Professional Bodies among which are Nigerian Society of Engineers, Society of Petroleum Engineers and the Energy Institute (UK). He is a registered Environmental Practitioner (NREP, USA), Fellow of the Institute of Petroleum Studies, Fellow of Nigerian Institute of Management, Fellow Institute of Industrial Administration, Fellow Nigerian Institute of Safety Professionals and Fellow Nigerian Environmental Society. His research interest is in area of Production enhancement and flow assurance.
