In July 2024, the Africa Centre of Excellence in Oilfield Chemicals Research (ACE-CEFOR), University of Port Harcourt, joined other Nigeria ACE Impact centres in a workshop titled, “Leading Change through Monitoring and Evaluation: A Masterclass Experience”. The workshop which held from July 8 to 18, 2024 in Kigali, Rwanda, was facilitated by the National Universities Commission and organized by Capacity Consultancy Africa Limited. Highlights of the topics discussed at the workshop include Introduction to M&E in project design and delivery; Planning for M&E; Key tools (instruments) for M&E; Understanding Results-Based Management (RBM) & Theory of Change; Establishing Baseline & Setting Targets; M&E Plans and Role in Project Execution; M&E Frameworks (Types & Roles); Developing frameworks; Data in M&E; Data Presentation Methodologies; Project Evaluation; Project Audit & Evaluation Reporting and M&E in Decision-Making & Programming. There were also several group assignments and presentations. There was a guided tour and team building/bonding event within the city of Kigali. ACE-CEFOR was represented by the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Georgewill Owunari, Centre Leader, Prof. Ikechukwu Agbagwa and M&E Officer, Mr. Uduma Ikpa
