Integrated Modelling Framework for Gas-to Power Systems Analysis
Contribution to knowledge:
This work evaluated the interactions of policies, technologies and economics of developing a viable Gas-to-Power (GTP) value chain in Nigeria by developing an integrated GTP tool. The economic model assumed the national electricity demand as the total turbine power output which passes through a power to gas conversion model based on specific fuel consumption (SFC). The model evaluated the exact volume of gas consumed in meeting the national electricity demand, keeping in view the investment required in the value chain. Results established clear relationships between thermodynamic variables and natural gas demand/supply economics and thus validated the model's capacity to perform disaggregated thermos-economic variable profitability effect analysis.
