Air Pollution Modeling and Sensitivity Analysis for Selected Locations in Rivers State
Contribution to knowledge:
The study developed a solar radiation model that uses ground surface temperature and humidity to predict cloud thickness. An empirical model for predicting uplifting of Ozone in obstruction prone areas has also been developed and verified using field data. Pollution Standard Index (PSI) models dependent on traffic volume, solar radiation, wind speed and traffic interrupted time (hold time) have also been developed for Choba, Rumuokoro and Ogba/Ndoni/Egbeda LGA of Rivers State. The work also developed a solar altitude and elevation pollution index procedure for positioning stacks.
Supervisors:
Dr. Henshaw, Terry Ekishi, was jointly supervised by Prof. Ify Nwaogazie (Department of Civil Engineering) & Dr. Vincent Weli (Department of Geography and Environmental Management) both of the University of Port Harcourt, Nigeria.
