In December 2024, following the advertisement for MSc and PhD admissions for the 2024/2025 academic year, and after a rigorous screening process, the Africa Centre of Excellence in Oilfield Chemicals Research (ACE-CEFOR), University of Port Harcourt, admitted 43 new post graduate students for the new academic session. 16 new students were admitted in the 1st batch of the Centre’s fully domiciled MSc programmes in Oilfield Chemistry; Oilfield Biology; Offshore Oilfield Science & Blue Economy; and Process Engineering. Also admitted were 27 new PhD students for the 8th batch of ACE-CEFOR PhD students, in the various PhD programmes of the centre including the new PhD programmes in Oilfield Chemistry; Oilfield Biology; Offshore Oilfield Science & Blue Economy; and Process Engineering. Recall that alongside the old PhD programmes of the Centre, 8 new programmes had also been advertised for the new session. The new programmes are; 1. PhD in Oilfield Chemistry 2. PhD in Oilfield Biology 3. PhD in Offshore Oilfield Science & Blue Economy 4. PhD in Process Engineering 5. MSc in Oilfield Chemistry 6. MSc in Oilfield Biology 7. MSc in Offshore Oilfield Science & Blue Economy 8. MSc in Process Engineering These 8 programmes, fully domiciled at ACE-CEFOR, are designed to address emerging trends and needs in science and engineering, attracting a diverse cohort of students. Lectures for the new students, will commence in January 2025. Academic and research activities continued for the Centre’s students in the month of December 2024.
