ACE-CEFOR in partnership with the Intellectual Property and Technology Transfer Office (IPTTO), University of Port Harcourt, organized a five-day workshop on Intellectual Property and Database Management. The event which took place from Monday, April 17 to Friday April 21, 2023 is part of the Centre’s DLI 5.3 – Entrepreneurship formulation.
Speakers at the workshop included Prof. Vincent Idemyor, of the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, University of Port Harcourt, who delivered the keynote address, titled, “Innovation, Intellectual Property and Commercialization”.
Lectures were delivered by Dr. Elangi Ituku of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), who spoke virtually from Geneva; Mrs. Caroline Anie-Osuagwu and Mr. Daniel Archibong, both of the National Office for Technology Acquisition and Promotion (NOTAP), Abuja; Mr. Michael Akpan, of the Nigerian Copyright Commission, Abuja; Barrister Enobong Usen, of the Federal Ministry of Industry, Trade and Investment, Abuja; Mr. Ikechukwu Ekwelibe, Team Lead, Turnitin Nigeria, Lagos; Mr. Obioma Chima, of the Technology Incubation Centre, Port Harcourt; Prof. Joseph Ajienka, 7th Vice Chancellor, University of Port Harcourt; and Prof. Olufemi Adesope, Department of Agricultural Economics & Extensions, University of Port Harcourt.
