Optimization of Thermal Recovery Process for Nigeria Bitumen

This edition of Research & Innovation, presents a study, which optimized the thermal recovery process for Nigerian Bitumen.

The Africa Center of Excellence in Oilfield
Chemicals Research (ACE-CEFOR) was one of the 44 ACEs that participated in the 10th ACE Workshop in Djibouti in February, where the new ACE IMPACT project was officially unveiled. We also report that the newly admitted 3rd batch of ACECEFOR PhD students had undergone the Center’s Orientation programme in April and have since commenced academic activities. In another development, 24 students from the 2nd batch of ACECEFOR PhD students have completed their 3rd Seminar Presentations.

The Office of the Vice Chancellor, University of Port Harcourt in collaboration with ACE-CEFOR, organized a 2-day workshop in June for academic staff and post-graduate students of the University, titled, “Internationalization of Research, Innovations in Education and Resource obilization for African Universities and Research Organizations”.

This edition also reports the cheering news that ACECEFOR, University of Port Harcourt has secured an international accreditation for three of its programmes. Also reported in this edition, is the news
that the University of Port Harcourt has secured a PASET Regional Scholarship and Innovation Fund (RSIF) to host her PhD programmes in Petroleum and Gas Engineering/ Energy Economics, which is domiciled at ACE-CEFOR.
